It was sad to see the huge trunks of the recently cut down elms beside the site; the bench that was installed in their shade now looks like a relic of a past gone. The site was partially damaged on the east side where one of the trees fell, I am hoping that the rain and the branches from the grandmother tree will decompose and nourish the new life, the grandchildren trees that are emerging. We have identified young American and Siberian Elms emerging in the rewilding zone, must be the next generation emerging, bring some hope to this dismal landscape.
C'était triste de voir les énormes souches des ormes récemment abattus à côté du site; le banc qui était installé à leur ombre ressemble maintenant à une relique d'un passé lointain. Le site a été endommagé du côté est où un des arbres est tombé, j'espère que la pluie et les branches de l'arbre grand-mère se décomposeront et nourriront la nouvelle vie, les arbres petits-enfants qui émergent. Nous avons identifié de jeunes ormes d'Amérique et de Sibérie émergeant dans la zone de réensauvagement, ils doivent être la prochaine génération émergente, qui apportent un peu d'espoir à cette triste paysage.
